That Guy With MS
Get Healthy or Die Trying
Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004 — a rare, progressive variant that took four years and a trip to Mayo Clinic to fully name.
Told I'd be unable to walk or travel by age 50, a million dollars of MS meds bought time but didn't prevent profound disability.
By October 2020, I was four years into a wheelchair, with extreme trigeminal neuralgia pain making speaking and eating solid food impossible.
That was the low point. It was also the turning point.
I've been off disease-modifying medication for seven years — not a recommendation, just a fact. It wasn't a plan, simply where life and data led.
I rebuilt health from the rubble of old me — mostly diet, movement, and mindset, plus tools like sauna and intentional psychedelics that raise eyebrows but show up in the results. The mind is powerful medicine. I follow the data, not the dogma. Quarterly biomarkers, bloodwork, ability metrics.
I've been out of the wheelchair five years. I recently jogged with my dog in the yard. Not all better yet, but better.
Progressive MS isn't supposed to work that way. My spinal cord is still shredded. I can't explain it fully, nor can my doctors. But we agree it's happening. Healing advanced MS is difficult, and possible.
This site documents what I learn and do. One data point and a possibility, not a prescription. Marking a trail for those looking.

Do hard things.
Believe.
Have fun.
